LCCC's customized training program leads to award
Lehigh Carbon Community College's (LCCC's) Leadership and Workforce Development Center (LWDC) recently partnered with Fisher Clinical Services of Allentown to customize a program resulting in a 36-hour Logistics Certificate program. Sherri Leggett of Fisher Clinical Services recently received the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) Eastern PA Learning Leader Award for 2009. Sherri worked with the college's LWDC to advance the knowledge of their workers through the following courses:
- Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Listening for Information
- Project Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Teamwork
- Warehouse Safety
Over a six month period, 103 Fisher Clinical Services Supply Chain Management Organization (SCMO) employees participated in the training, which was subsidized in part by a federal government grant known as "Careers on the Move."
