Three vehicle crash in Schuylkill
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a three vehicle crash about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, along Molleystown Road in Tremont Township, Schuylkill County.
Troopers said Christopher R. Wright, 32, of Berwick, was entering the road from the Raceway Truck Stop to go eastbound and crashed into the side rear door of a Nissan Sentra, driven by Kathy M. Smith, 49, of Tremont, with his 2007 Chevorlet Impala. After impact the Sentra spun counter-clockwise 45 degrees traveling into the westbound lane and striking a 1993 Mercury driven by Jennifer M. Coomb, 36, of Cornish, N.H., who was westbound at the time.
After impact the Mercury spun counter-clockwise 45 degrees and came to rest in the parking lot of the truck stop.
Coomb was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. No one else was injured.
Troopers cited Wright for vehicles entering or crossing a roadway.
Troopers also reported probing a crash about 2:40 p.m. on Jan. 24 along SR61 in Ontelaunee Township, Berks County. Troopers said Carolyn R. Caporuscio, 47, of Mohrsville, was exiting the lot at Sheetz MiniMart to turn right onto 61 and pulled into the path of David J. Mete, 59, of Pottsville, who was northbound. The front of Mete's Lexus ES struck the rear of Caporuscio's 2006 Honda Element, troopers said.
No one was injured. The Lexus had to be towed from the scene.
Troopers cited Caporuscio for roadways laned for traffic.
