Schuylkill suspect nabbed in Virginia

A Schuylkill County man, who state police at Schuylkill Haven said robbed a market in Schuylkill County early Wednesday morning, was nabbed in Viriginia later in the day.

Troopers said William A. Kistler, 26, of 110 River St., Cressona, was arrested in Fredericksburg, Va., by city police and Virginia state police while operating a stolen vehicle.

According to troopers Kistler entered the Red & White Market, located at the intersection SR61 and Earl St., North Manheim Township, about 5:15 a.m. Wednesday and brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk gave him all the cash from the store registers and he fled on foot.

Kistler has been charged with armed robbery and motor vehicle theft. Reportedly the vehicle Kistler was driving was stolen in Cressona.

Assisting Schuylkill Haven troopers were troopers from the Reading barracks along with police from Orwigsburg, Schuylkill Haven and Reading and the Schuylkill County District Attorney's office.
