Tamaqua man facing charges

A Tamaqua man has been cited after officers observed him fighting with another person Wednesday night.

Tamaqua Officer Karl Harig was returning to the station after a routine patrol when he heard the sound of running feet behind him. He turned and observed two males running from east to west, entering the Rottet Motors parking lot. One of the males then knocked the other to the ground, punched and kicked him.

The aggressor was identified as Joseph Brian Franz, of 414 W. Broad St. Franz was charged with disorderly conduct.
