Florida man caused Schuylkill collision

State Police in Frackville responded to the scene of an accident in Mahanoy Township Saturday, July 3.

Melvin Pearson, of St. Petersburg, Fla., was traveling northbound on Vulcan Road when he struck the vehicle of David Bickowski, of Mahanoy City, who was traveling eastbound on Route 54. Pearson failed to yield to traffic and collided with Bickowski in the eastbound side of the two roads' intersection.

Both units came to final rest on the median of Route 54 and were towed from the scene. Members of the Mahanoy City FD, EMS, PD and Fire Police assisted at the scene. Pearson and Bickowski were taken from the scene by Mahanoy City EMS for unknown injuries.
