Lehighton to host Phillies HR Derby
The Phillies Home Run Derby will be making its annual visit to Lehighton on Thursday, July 8.
The Derby is sponsored by the Philadelphia Phillies. The starting time is set for 9 a.m. The contest is open for all boys and girls, ages 7-12. The event will take place at Baer Memorial Park. Official entry forms will be available at the field the day of the contest.
A total of 40 prizes will be awarded. First, second and third place winners in each category will receive engraved plaques and will be invited to a Regional final to be held later in the summer.
The other prizes, Phillies tickets and a random drawing will award other baseball related items. This way, every one is a potential winner, regardless of their score.
