Coloring contest

The Western Pocono Lioness Club, in conjunction with the West End Park & Open Space Commission, will host a patriotic coloring contest for ages 5 to 12, at the Chestnuthill Park, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 10.

An advance copy of the picture to be colored can be obtained at several sites, including the library and the park and West End Happenings in Gilbert.

Prizes will be awarded at 12:30 p.m.

All contestants will receive free ice cream and must be present to win.

Caregiver's Support

A countywide Care Giver's Support Group, in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association, will meet from 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, at the Loder Building in East Stroudsburg.

This is an opportunity for impacted folks to get some support from trained facilitators and share their own experiences with other caregivers.

The program is free and open to the public.

New pastors

Effort UMC welcomed its new pastor, the Rev. Robin Fisher, this past Sunday with over 150 members in attendance. A social hour followed the service.

Saylorsburg UMC will welcome its new pastor this coming Sunday, July 11.

B.P. readings

Free blood pressure readings are taken at the Chestnuthill Senior Center in Brodheadsville, from 10-11 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month by the Allen Lear Home Care. The next time will be Wednesday, July 14.

Italian Heritage Club

The Italian-American Heritage Club of Monroe County will next meet at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 18, at the Chestnuthill Township Park on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.
