Charges pending for Luzerne man

Published July 08. 2010 05:00PM

On July 2, at about 10:21 p.m., Nesquehoning Police Officer Brian White was on patrol at the intersection of Rhume Street and Mermon Avenue, when he observed a black Chevrolet Blazer exiting the area behind Panther Valley Elementary School.

White stopped the suspect vehicle at Mermon Avenue and Mill Street for violating the area's trespassing policy. The driver was identified as Arthur Burnhauser of West Hazleton. A can of beer was found between the driver's legs.

When asked what he was doing behind the school, Burnhauser admitted that he was urinating. He later failed a series of field sobriety tests, but refused to take a chemical BAC test. Charges are pending.
