July 9, 1977 Northwestern wins a pair of Lehigh Valley Legion games, defeating West End Youth Center, 8-1, before edging Downtown Youth Center, 7-6. Against WEYC, Scott Stoudt fires a six-hitter on the mound and contributes three hits at the plate. Steve Metzger delivers an RBI double in the eighth inning to defeat DYC. Metzger, who also triples in the contest, gains the pitching win.
