Crashes probed on I81 in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County. Both crashes occurred on Tuesday, July 6.

Troopers said about 12:15 a.m. Jason M. Eisner, 41, of Baltimore, Md., was operating a 2006 Mazda 5 southbound in Delano Township in the left lane when he entered the right lane and went onto the shoulder. The car then traveled back across the passing lane onto the west shoulder and own the grass median and overturned one time. Eisner and his two passengers were not injured. Troopers cited Eisner for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

About 2:20 a.m. John Abekah, 48, of Alexandria, Va., was driving a 2003 Freightliner tractor with trailer northbound, also in Delano Township, when the truck drifted onto the shoulder. Abekah attempted to bring the rig back onto the road but the trailer portion overturned onto its passenger side and made impact with the guard rail. The rig traveled northwest back onto the road, then off onto the shoulder where it struck the guard rail and went down a steep embankment. The trailer became hung up on the guard rail.

Abekah was not injured. He was cited for roadways laned for traffic.
