Domestic incident leads to prison

A domestic incident in Nesquehoning led to prison for one man.

Borough police officer Tim Wuttke was dispatched to 34 E. Railroad St., on July 4 about 1:33 p.m. to a report of a domestic. Upon arrival Kaitlyn Atkinson told Wuttke that Matthew Ellis-Skelton had grabbbed her by the hair and began to swing her around then grabbed her face with one hand and choked her with his other hand.

Atkinson was injured and transproted to a hospital for treatment.

Skelton was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault. He was arraigned before District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $2,500 straight cash bail. Wuttke was assisted by Jim Thorpe Officer Lee Marzen.
