Theft incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on several theft incidents investigated by troopers in recent days.

Troopers are investigating the theft of a handgun. The gun was removed from the residence of Joshua Leap, 22, of Box 20, Kunkletown Rd., Kunkletown, Eldred Township, Monroe County, sometime between 12:30 and 4:30 a.m. on July 3. The gun is described as a Ruger P95 model with serial number 31119698. It is a 9mm semi-automatic with a black grip and silver slide.

Troopers said Sayre John Snyder, 27, of Palmerton, reported his vehicle was entered while parked at Beltzville State Park, in Towamensing Township. Entry was gained by smashing the driver's side window. Removed was an Apple iPhone. The incident occurred sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. on July 3.

Michael Peschansky, 40, of Bensalem, Bucks County, reported his unlocked vehicle was entered while parked at 12 Fox Lane, Penn Forest Streams, Penn Forest Township, and removed was a Tom Tom navigation system. The incident occurred sometime between 3 and 7 p.m. on July 4.

Troopers said someone stole a white tailgate from a 2002 Dodge Dakota parked at Family Motors, along Interchange Rd., in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, sometime overnight of July 7-8.

William Joseph Davies, 74, of Hatboro, Montgomery County, reported someone removed the registration plate from his vehicle while parked at the Hideaway Hills Golf Club in Eldred Township. The theft occurred sometime between July 4-10.

Diane Foley, 42, of Highpoint Drive at Meixell Valley Rd., in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County, reported a red wooden sign was taken from the above intersection sometime between midnight and 3 p.m. on July 5. The sign reads, "Highpoint Drive."

Tiffany L. Costenbader, 28, of Palmerton, reported someone took her prescription medication from her purse sometime between noon and 3 p.m. on July 4. The incident occurred along Berger Hill Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

A 17-year-old female reported someone stole $150 from her purse while she was staying with friends along White St., in Weissport. The theft occurred sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on July 8.

An 83-year-old female from Windy Hill Rd., in Polk Township, reported someone removed a concrete lawn ornament from her front porch. The ornament was described as a white in color lion about two feet tall. The theft occurred sometime between July 7-9.
