July 15, 1984 Randy Engle slugs a two-run homer and Greg Serfass collects three hits to help Palmerton register a 5-1 Lehigh Valley Legion playoff win over Salisbury. The victory allows Palmerton to win the best-of-three series, two games to one, and advance to the second round. Engle goes deep in the fourth inning to extend a 1-0 lead to 3-0. Scott Hillegass hurls all seven innings for the winners, walking four while striking out four.
