The next Crime Watch meeting in Nesquehoning will take place on Wednesday, July 21 at 7 p.m., in the council chambers. All are invited to participate.

Democratic Club sets meeting
The Lansford Democratic Club meets on Wednesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the Lansford AMVETS. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Summit Hill
Methodist Charge
The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, July 18, is as follows:
Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.
The adult Sunday school will be held at 10 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
VBS is planned
The community Vacation Bible School will be held Monday through Friday, July 26-30, at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill.
Sessions are scheduled from 9-11:30 a.m. All children from the Panther Valley area, ages 4-12, are welcome to attend.
Presbyterian church
The worship service for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, July 18 will take place at 9:30 a.m., which is a change for the summer season.
The time will be in effect until Sept. 12. During the summer, there will be no junior choir, Sunday school or adult Bible class.
Food distribution
The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food items to those who qualify in town on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

St. Gabe's procession
Members of the St. Gabriel's Club, Summit Hill, will revive an old tradition in Summit Hill in conjunction with the St. Joseph Parish Festival that is scheduled for the weekend of July 16-18.
Members will hold a procession in honor of St. Gabriel, for whom the Italian-American Society is named.
The procession will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18.
Members will process with the statue of St. Gabriel through the west end of town, along with the children from the parish's First Communion class.
Parishioners and friends are invited to join in the procession, followed with the placement of the statue and benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
This time-honored tradition is aimed at reminding participants and viewers of the Italian heritage.
