Family reunion

The 82nd annual Smith Family Reunion will be held Sunday, July 25 at St. Matthew's U.C.C. church grove, under the direction of president, the Rev. Sterling A. Schnell, Reading.

Registration is at 12:30 p.m., and the meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. Entertainment will be the Toad Creek Duo by Keith and Karline Brintzenhoff, Topton. There will be a memorial service with dove release; games for children; Lehighton Band concerts; an old-fashioned cake walk; silent auction; and election of officers for the new year.

After 16 years as president of the reunion, Schnell is seeking a successor. He was president of the Correll Reunion for 18 years and main speaker for many other reunions in English and Pennsylvania German during his 52 years of Christian ministry.

The reunion is held rain or shine. Bring lawn chairs. The public is welcome and a refreshment stand will be available.
