Lehighton man charged with assault

A Lehighton man is charged with assaulting a female at an East Penn Township residence on July 16, at 7:05 a.m.

According to state police at Lehighton, the incident occurred as Ted A. Long, 42, assaulted an unnamed 37-year old female of Lehighton at the aforementioned location. Long struck the victim in the face with a closed fist and slapped her in the back of the head several times.

Long is charged with simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief. Charges are pending approval of the Carbon County District Attorney's Office.
