Jim Thorpe couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mase recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They were married July 2, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Mase is the former Anne Marie McHugh.

The couple have four children: Sally, wife of Wayne Smith; Ava, wife of John Bretzik; and Pamela Formica, all of Jim Thorpe; and Thomas Mase, and his wife Pamela of Palmyra.

They have six grandchildren: Bridget, wife of Eric Johnston; John Paul Bretzik; Heather Formica; David Formica (who passed away July 21, 2006); Cole Mase and Kendra Mase.

The couple renewed their vows June 6 in front of family and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Church, Lake Harmony, with Msgr. John Chizmar officiating.

A 50th anniversary celebration was held in their honor on June 5 at Macaluso's at The Lantern, hosted by their children and grandchildren and attended by family and friends.
