A domestic incident has led to several charges against a Monroe County man.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were called to 1929 Mountain Road, in the Stone Crest development, Albrightsville, about 9:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, to a report of a male under the influence of drugs and causing damages in the home. Upon arrival officers were told by two females in the home that James Haney, 44, of that address, was threatening them and they had locked themselves in a bedroom.

Haney was located in the home and was extremely uncooperlative. It was also reported that Haney had assaulted his daughter, Christine Hanley, 18, in a dispute over a dog, which had been sprayed by a skunk. Police were told Haney had thrown the dog off the back deck of the home.

Haney was taken into custody for simple assault on his daughter. During the course of the investigation police said a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was found in the home.

Haney was also charged with drug violations. Charges related to the incident with the dog are pending, police added. Hanley was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville.
