Luzerne driver facing DUI count
A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and other charges in Carbon County.
Nesquehoning police reported on July 2, no time given, Officer Brian White observed a vehicle exiting from behind the Panther Valley Elementary school and going south of Mermon Ave. The school is posted no trespassing.
White made a traffic stop and identified the driver as Arthur Burnhauser Jr., of 117 S. Broad St., Apt. 7, West Hazleton.
Burnhauser was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He refused to submit to a chemical test. He was charged with DUI, DUI of a controlled substance, altered, forged or counterfeit plate, driving while under suspension-DUI related, expired registration plate, required financial responsibility, restriction on alcoholic beverages, fraudulent use of a registration plate, trespass by motor vehicle and general lighting requirements.
