Two-vehicle crash probed in Monroe

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a two-vehicle crash about 11:44 a.m. on July 20 along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Dagny H. Ruckels, 68, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2004 Dodge Stratus southbound when he crossed the center line and collided into a 1999 Dodge Durango operated by Arlene A. Stenger, 45, of Sciota. The Stratus struck the driver's side door of the Durango, troopers said.

After impact the Stratus continued south and struck a speed limit sign along the east berm where it came to rest.

Ruckels was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Stenger was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Ruckels for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
