Break-in, theft of vehicle probed
State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary and theft of a vehicle incident at a Schuylkill County residence.
Troopers said unknown criminals entered a unlocked three car garage at 418 Nelms St., Seltzer City, Norwegian Township. Once inside they gained entry to the home through an unlocked door. Inside the home they removed a pink in color bank jug containing about $100 in U.S. currently, mostly coins, and broke a lamp in an interior bedroom.
They also took a 2005 Cadillac CTS, peal white in color, from the garage. The home and vehicle is owned by Dorothy G. Shappell, 66. The incident occurred sometime between 5:45 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24.
Troopers also reported on a theft incident. Robert J. Krammes, of Orwigsburg, reported his wallet was stolen after he laid it on a counter at Matto Cycle, located in East Norwegian Township. The wallet is brown in color and contained the victim's driver's license, credit cards and cash. The incident occurred about 1:20 p.m. on Saturday.
