Published July 27. 2010 05:00PM

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 25, along Deep Creek Road south of Creek Road, in Barry Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Philip Robert Scheuren, 26, of Ashland, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck northbound when the truck went onto the berm before entering a curve. The truck struck several trees and a speed limit sign with the right front bumper. The truck continued to travel in a northwest direction and struck a telephone pole with the right front bumper shearing the pole. The truck came to rest partially on the berm and partially blocking the southbound lane.

Scheuren was found to be under the influence and charges will be filed, troopers said, pending test results.
