Pocono arrests
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several arrests made by officers recently.
On July 21 about 7:14 p.m. officers responded to the area of Norfolk Road in the Pocono Farms East development in Tobyhanna involving a juvenile striking a female in the face with a rock. On scene officers spoke to the victim, Diane Manning, 64, of Tobyhanna, who had the juvenile detained.
The investigation revealed a 12-year-old male was walking near Manning's residence and for unknown reasons came up behind her and struck her on the side of the face with a rock injuring her right eye. Manning was taken to the Pocono Medical Center (PMC), East Stroudsburg, for treatment.
The juvenile will be charged through the county juvenile probation office with aggravated and simple assault and harassment. He was released to the custody of his mother.
Also on July 21 about 8:58 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Hunter and Holiday drives in Stillwater Lakes, Coolbaugh Township, for a reported harassment incident. On scene officers spoke with Corey T. Mars, 18, and a 15-year-old male juvenile, both from Pocono Summit. The juvenile told police Mars had placed him in a headlock and pushed him to the gruond. Mars admitted to the acts, police said. Mars was issued a summary citation for harassment and released.
On Saturday, July 25, about 8:30 officers on bike patrol in the area surrounding the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Firemans carnival in Mt. Pocono observed a male sitting inside his vehicle consuming what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage. Officers made contact with the male, who was identified as Ognyay Sadakov, 20, of East Stroudsburg. He was in possession of three cans of beer. He was cited for possession and consumption of alcohol as a minor.
On Sunday, July 26, about 3:54 a.m. officers were dispatched to 5839 Mountain Laurel Court, Long Pond, for a reported domestic incident. On scene officers spoke with witnesses and the victim, identified as Miguel Ocasio, 20, of Reading. Ocasio said Corey C. Martin, 49, of Long Pond, struck him with a beer bottle causing a laceration to the back of the head. Martin left the scene prior to the arrival of police.
Ocasio was transported to the PMC for treatment. Police said a warrant would be secured for Martin's arrest for simple assault.
