Granted divorce

Steven D. Sturgis, 304 Arlington St., Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Lisa A. Sturgis, 279 Dairy Road No. 2, Tamaqua. They were married June 8, 1996.

Donna M. Woodring, 439 Washington St., Freeland, was granted a divorce from Gary J. Woodring, 400 E. Blaine St., McAdoo. They were married May 3, 1997.

Sarah Kohn Finnerty was granted a divorce from David Christopher Finnerty, both of Orwigsburg. They were married March 7, 1999.

Roger F. Wehbe, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Lisa M. Wehbe, Raleigh, N.C. They were married June 4, 2004.

Carol L. Campion was granted a divorce from Michael F. Campion, both of Pottsville. They were married Sept. 7, 1988.

Summary appeals

Lindsay A. Kitsock, 17, Girardville, on a charge of failing to obey a traffic signal was fined $25 plus $50 costs by Judge John E. Domalakes. She originally was charged by Patrolman Shawn M. Butler, Butler Township police, with failing to stop for a school bus which a district justice found her guilty and she appealed the fine and cost of $366.50. A plea agreement was worked out between her counsel, Attorney Thomas Pellish, and the district attorney's office to have school bus charged nol prossed and have her plead guilty to the lesser charge.

Dennis Shafe, 25, Schuylkill Haven, was adjudged guilty of driving while his operating privileges were suspended and was fined $200 plus $50 costs. He was cited by Patrolman Brian J. Reno, Pottsville police. He was found not guilty of a charge of driving while license was suspended-DUI related, for which he had been found guilty by a magistrate and fined $500.

Enrique Minaya-Gomez, 23, Allentown, was found guilty of exceeding the speed limit when stopped on Silverbrook Road in Kline Township and was fined $59 plus $60 costs. She was found not guilty of driving while her operating privileges were suspended . Patrolman Scott D. Cramer, Kline Township, reported clocking the defendend at 72 miles-per-hour in a 55 zone.

State sentence

Eric Phillip Schaeffer, 36, of 1014 Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, had his probation and parole revoked by Judge John E. Domalakes and he was re-sentenced on a charge of stalking to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution.

He had pleaded guilty and was sentenced last Feb. 18 to serve 23 months probation but he was found to have violated the terms of his probation set by court. He was charged with stalking people who reside on Village Drive and Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township.

His parole was revoked on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and his street time of 54 days were taken away and his new maximum date of release on this charge was extended to Sept. 29, 2014. Schaeffer also pleaded guilty to a an additional stalking charge commited in Orwigsburg in March 2009 and was sentenced by Judge Domalakes to serve six to 12 months and this sentence begins when his other state prison sentence expires.
