June 1, 1980 Lehighton claims the Pocono Mountain League first half title by posting a pair of wins over Kunkletown. In the first game, Rich Perich tosses a two-hitter and collects a single and double at the plate to aid a 9-2 win. John McGuire contributes a double and three-run homer while Bill Kunkle also knocks in three runs. In the second contest, George Harris gains the mound win and also slugs a two-run homer in a 12-6 victory. Larry Allen adds three hits while Neil Stubits delivers a two-run home run.
