June 2, 1973 Dean Meckes pitches a two-hit shutout to lead Palmerton to a 7-0 Lehigh Valley Legion win over Mountainville. George Kurtz collects four hits, two of them doubles, and also knocks in a pair of runs. Meckes also helps his own cause by finishing with three RBIs, while teammate John Szukics adds a hit, two runs scored and an RBI. The winners also receive two hits from Emil Suarez.
