Schuylkill crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers over the past weekend.
A one-vehicle crash occurred about 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, along SR183, in Wayne Township. Troopers said Jedd A. Burigana, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala southbound when he lost control and the car began to spin in a clockwise direction. The car traveled onto the southbound shoulder, leaving about 168 feet of road marks before impacting with the guard rail with the right front bumper. After initial impact the car traveled about 42 feet south along the guard rail before coming to rest facing southwest partially blocking the southbound lane.
Burigana and his passenger, Amber N. Lehman, 19, also of Schuylkill Haven, were not injured. Troopers cited Burigana for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
The second crash occurred about 11:01 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, along SR443 at Renningers Market in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Mary L. Myers, 61, of New Hope, Bucks County, was turning left out of the market parking lot to go east while Gina M. Kelly, 30, of Schuylkill Haven, was westbound on 443. Troopers said Myers turned in front of Kelly with the right front bumper of Kelly's 2002 Mercury Mountaineer striking the left rear passenger door of Myers' 2006 Pontiac Vibe.
After impact the Mountaineer spun counter-clockwise and came to rest facing east on the road. The Vibe came to rest facing west against the Mountaineer.
A passenger with Myers, Mary L. Myers, 88, of Loveland, Colo., was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville. Both drivers and a passenger with Kelly, Mary A. Earhart, 62, of Orwigsburg, were not injured.
Troopers cited Myers for vehicle turning left.
