Driver trapped in vehicle after crash

A Monroe County driver was trapped in his vehicle following a crash that occurred about 5:28 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, along SR940 near Sullivan Trail Motel, in Pocono Lake.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Vincent S. Cardo, 25, of Blakeslee, was driving a1997 Ford F150 pickup truck when he crashed. Rescue personnel had to use hydraulic and electric tools to free Cardo from the vehicle. He was then flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of what police said were moderate injuries.

Police were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Tobyhanna Township Fire Company and the Pocono Mountain EMS unit.
