Vacation Bible School

The St. Jerome Regional Religious Education Program is hosting a Vacation Bible School, "Parade Around the Our Father," which is open to all children in the Tamaqua area.

Children will learn Bible verses, create crafts, play games and enjoy snacks as part of the two-week event. From June 21-25, the school is open to children from pre-K age to second grade. Children in third through fifth grade will then participate in the school from June 28-July 1. There is a registration fee per child.

Each registered child will receive a T-shirt.

Confirmation Class

A parent meeting for all children planning to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at either St. Jerome or SS. Peter and Paul churches, Tamaqua, was held on Monday, May 24. Parents who missed the meeting should contact the Religious Education Office at (570) 668-4416 to pick up their child's information packet.

Classes will be offered in sessions throughout the summer, fall, and winter. Candidates will need to complete community service hours as part of their preparation for receiving Confirmation.

A schedule of available sessions was mailed to families currently registered with the program.

Anyone who did not turn in their completed Confirmation application should do so by June 11.
