Summit Hill

Legion to meet

The monthly meeting of American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, will be held on Monday, June 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the post home. Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the session.

A meeting of the Home Association will immediately follow the post's meeting.

Borough council

The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Borough Council will be held on Monday, June 14, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Joseph Weber, president, will be in charge of the session.

Food distribution

The Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food items to those who qualify in town on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

Infant baptized

Grady John Shellhammer, son of Jillian Shellhammer and Stephen Miller, was baptized on Sunday, May 16, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.

Scripture sharing

The weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, June 10, at 7 p.m. The sessions are held in the parish rectory.

Lansford

Vacation Bible School

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, has announced the dates of its upcoming Vacation Bible School. It will take place on the mornings of July 26-28.

Registrations will be accepted on June 12-13 and 19-20 after all of the weekend Masses in the parish office.

The theme will be "Rain Forest."

The school is open to children 4-10 from any of the Catholic parishes of the area.

Council to meet

The monthly meeting of the Lansford Borough Council will be held on Wednesday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center. Robert Gaughan, president, will be in charge of the session.

Nesquehoning

VFW ladies meeting

Nesquehoning VFW Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the post on East Center Street. President Cathy Sommers will preside at the meeting.
