Theft incident probed in Monroe

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft incident at a Monroe County service station.

Troopers said a female, who they declined to identify, had her purse removed from her vehicle while parked in front of pump number one at the Unimart Sunoco Service Station along SR209 at Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, about 6:13 p.m. on Friday, June 4.

Inside the purse was $379 in cash along with the victim's drivers license, social security card, credit card, bank debit card, checkbook, medications and other personal items.

Surveillance footage from the station showed a white female with blond hair entering the vehicle and removing the purse. Troopers said as soon as the footage is obtained it will be released to the media.
