Pleads guilty
Keith Daniel Neff, 27, of 119 Pine St., Tamaqua, recently pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and spent 48 hours in the county prison and was released and placed on probation for six months. He was ordered to pay a fine of $500, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, a $50 monthly supervision fee and court costs.
On a summary charge of failing to have his car lights on during required period was fined $25 plus $50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to access device fraud by using a credit card of another person. He received a probation sentence of 23 months to run concurent with the first sentence but must make restitution of $526 to the victim, pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) and costs of prosecution. Both sentences were imposed by Judge John E. Domalakes.
Not guilty
Antonioi Louis Morales, 23, of Reading, failed to appear for his non-jury trial before Judge John E. Domalakes who ordered the Commonwealth to proceed without the defendfant being present. Testminony was presented on a charge possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police claimed marijuana was in the ash tray of his car when it was stopped in the100 block on North Third Street in Pottsville last July 1. The court found him not guilty.
Gets probation
Mary Veronica Leonard, 45, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to retail theft of floral plants from Giant Super Market, Pottsville, and was placed on probation 18 months and ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, a $50 monthly supervision fee, perform 20 hours of community service and pay court costs. The sentence was imposed by Judge Domalakes.
Seeks more time
Controller Melinda Kantner filed a petition to court asking for more time to prepare the annual audit required by the controller of all receipts and expenditures of the county for the preceeding year because her auditor, L. Samuel Deegan, CPA, asked for extension of time. The report is prepared and filed with the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs and Economic Development by July 1
Gets probation
Kathleen Brennan, 26, Shenandoah, who had pleaded guilty last February to retail theft, was placed by President Judge William E. Baldwin in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for 23 months with the first 30 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 per day cost with the balance under normal parole supervision and pay a $50 per month supervision fee, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and costs of prosecutilon. Brennan was cited by Patrolman Gary Keppel, Shenandoah police, last May 3.
Jury verdict
Rudolpho Valdez, 28, Pottsville, who was found guilty of criminal charges by a jury on June 4, was sentenced by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin.
On the three counts of a person not to possess a firearm Valdez was sentenced to serve three to six years in a state correctional institution. On a charge of altering the manufacturig nunber on a firearm was sentenced to serve two to four years but it runs concurrent to the first sentence. Valdez was cited by Capt. Richard Wojciechowski, Pottsville police, last Oct. 8 after being found hiding in a bedroom closet. Three weapons were recovered and a round of ammunition. The sentence is to run consecutive to a sentence he is now serving which increases his total sentence to nine to 18 years.
Found guilty
Ruben Valerio Gomez, 40, Shenandoah, was found guilty by a jury of a number of drug related charges.
Judge John E. Domalakes deferred sentence to Aug. 10 and ordered a pre-sentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department. Because he can't raise the bail Gomez was remanded to the county prison to await sentencing. He was found guilty of two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia last June and July in Shenandoah. He was cited by Shenandoah police and the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.
Seek payment
Aaron Financial Services, LLC, Niles, Ill., filed a suit against Jennifer Boyer, 108 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, seeking a judgment for alleged payments owed on a credit card in amount of $2,910.88 plus cost, interest and attorney fees.

Alison L. Valentine, 83 Fairview St., Barnesville, was granted a divorce from William F. Valentine, 311 Penn St., Tamaqua. They were married April 22, 1989.
Mandy L. Cookson, Reading, was granted a divorce from Eric P. Cookson, Saint Clair. They were married April, 25, 2009.
Owen M. Jennings was granted a divorce from Helen Linda Jennings, both of Orwigsburg. They were married June 22, 1974.
Scott Johnson, Minersville, was granted a divorce from Michelle Johnson, Pottsville. They were married Aug. 6, 1999.
Joy L. Petrie, Schuylkill Haven, was granted a divorce from Scott D. Petrie, Shoemakersville. They were married Sept. 30, 1995.
Michele D. Spirko, Pottsville, was granted a divorce from Robert T. Spirko, Port Carbon. They were marrid Aug. 21, 1996.

Nicole D. Moore, 800 Hazle St., Tamaqua, started a divorce proceeding against Erik C. Moore, 725 W. Market St., Mahanoy City. They were married Sept. 23, 2005.
