Carbon man jailed for assault incident

A Carbon County man was jailed on Monday, June 14, following an assault incident.

State police at Lehighton said Harold Clarke II, 21, of Palmerton, and a unidentified 21-year-old female, became engaged in a physical altercation at the Beers' residence at 440 Firehouse Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, about 11:22 a.m. During the altercation Clarke allegedly shoved the female's head into a wall three times causing damage to the wall and a swelling to the back of the head of the victim.

He was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. Clarke was arraigned before District Judge Bruce Appleton, of Palmerton, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoing in lieu of bail.
