June 18, 1950 Gus Pajakinas collects five hits, two of them for extra bases, and scores four runs to help Tamaqua roll to a 14-4 Panther Valley League win over Lehighton. Pajakinas has a double and a triple as Tamaqua finishes the contest with 20 hits. Joe Young and Johnny Metrick each finish with three hits and two runs, while Tom Willing also adds three hits. Roy Calabrese hits a grand slam for Tamaqua, and Hub Becker gets credit for the pitching win.
