Four squads still unbeaten
The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission's summer basketball league finished its second week of play. The Guerilla Squad and Cuz-N-Joe's place each picked up two wins this week, and each team sits atop their respective division.
MONDAY'S RESULTS
Guerilla Squad-
Lucky's Deli
The Guerilla Squad used a 16 point half-time lead on their way to a 56-43 victory over Lucky's Deli. Dave Wilson and Derrick McFarland each had 12 points for Guerilla Squad.
Jeff Krusinsky had a game-high 23 points for Lucky's Deli.
West End Fire Co.-Phillips Lighting
West End Fire Company used a big second half to defeat Phillips Lighting 78-65. Frank Marcinek led the winners with 18 points, and Jeremy Haddock was close behind with 16 points. Tim Wargo added 15 points in the win.
Damian Fritz had a game-high 24 points for Phillips Lighting, and Bob Tugend had 21 points in the effort.
Cuz-N-Joe's Place-
Mr. Z's Contracting
Cuz-N-Joe's Place used an 11 point half-time lead to defeat Mr. Z's Contracting 72-59. Jon Veet had a game-high 19 points for Cuz-N-Joe's, and Soko Mujovic scored 14 points in the win.
Jordan Wartman lead Mr. Z's Contracting with 15 points.
R.R. Frey Services-
M & M Catering
R.R. Frey Services used an 11-0 run to end the first-half on their way to defeating M & M Catering by a score of 50-40. Jeremy Frey led all scorers with 14 points.
Steve Ennis and Jarrad Welikonich each scored 11 points for M & M Catering.
WEDNESDAY'S RESULTS
Vesuvio's Pizzeria-Schaeffer's Harley
Vesuvio's Pizzeria overcame a one point half-time deficit to come back and defeat Schaeffer's Harley Davidson 54-42. Mark Scarcella had a game-high 18 points for Vesuvio's, and Mike DeMarco added 15 points in the win.
Zach Tofany had a team-high 14 points for Schaeffer's Harley Davidson.
Cuz-N-Joe's Place-
West End Fire Co.
With only five players, Cuz-N-Joe's Place defeated West End Fire Company 79-58. Soko Mujovic had a game-high 27 points, including seven three-pointers, and Ethan Eichorst scored 25 points in the victory.
Scott Marcinek scored 18 points and Frank Marcinek scored 17 points for West End Fire Company.
Service Electric-Lucky's Deli
Service Electric had a big first-half en route to a 87-67 victory over Lucky's Deli. Tom Zulkowski had a game-high 24 points for Service Electric. Jeff Peel scored 19 points, Kieran Conway had 18 points, and Kyle Berezwick added 17 points in the win.
Jeff Krusinsky scored 22 points for Lucky's Deli, and Nick Sajone added 12 points in the effort.
Guerilla Squad-
BGL Electric
The Guerilla Squad defeated BGL Electric 59-50 in Western Division play. Dave Wilson scored 15 points for Guerilla Squad. Derrick McFarland and Brandon McFarland each had 11 points in the win.
Mark Mazur scored a game-high 19 points for BGL Electric.
