Scattering of rubbish, other incidents probed
A scattering of rubbish and acts of criminal mischief incidents were probed by state police at Lehighton.
The rubbish incident occurred at the Polk Township Municipal Building, located along Polk Township Road, in Monroe County. Unknown persons dumped garbage on the township-owned land sometime between May 28 and June 1.
Troopers are investigating criminal mischief incidents.
Sometime overnight of Tuesday, June 15, and Wednesday an unknown person launched an unoccupied boat into the lake at Pleasant Valley Estates, along Lake Drive, in Polk Township. The boat is described as red in color, a 1972 Silverline fiberglass, single motor watercraft. The board was recently seen around the lake on a boat trailer with "free, take me" spray painted in white on the side.
After the boat was launched into the lake it sank, causing contaminating fluids to leak into the water, troopers said. While attempting to launch the boat into the water the criminals damaged grass nearby the lake as well as a bench.
An incident occurred at the residence of Elaine Caruso-Long, 47, of 23 Silver Fox Court, Kunkletown, Polk Township. Unknown persons threw an unknown type object at the rear of the residence, causing red splatter marks on the siding. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 9 a.m. on Monday, June 14.
Donna Schulze, 44, of 3003 Pleasant Veiw Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, reported someone scratched her Ford F150 pickup truck while parked at her home. The incident was reported on June 7.
Troopers said three windows on a property at 102 Whitman Lane, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, sometime between June 10 and Wednesday, June 16. The property owner was not identified by troopers.
