Pocono arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on arrests made by officers in recent days.

On Friday, June 18, about 6:29 p.m. police conducted a vehicle stop along Kuhenbeaker Road, in Tunkhannock Township, for faulty equipment. The driver was identified as Devon John, 29, of Tobyhanna. It was determined that John's license was under suspension. A vehicle search was conducted and found was a small amount of marijuana. John was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was processsed and then released. He will be charged with drug possession.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, June 19, about 1:34 a.m. along SR940 at Hemlock St., in Pocono Pines, Tobyhanna Township, for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Willaim John Mahon, 28, of Long Pond. Observed in the vehicle was a pair of brass knuckles on the driver's seat. Mahon will be charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.

A 16-year-old male from Tobyhanna was cited for underage drinking on Friday about 4:27 a.m. along Long Pond Road near Sullivan Trail, in Tobyhanna Township. He was found walking at the above location with two other male juveniles. He was transported to his home and released to his parents. A citation will be filed charging him with underage drinking.

Also on Friday, about 9;04 p.m., officers received information that Alicia Casey, 28, of Pocono Summit, had an active warrant for her arrest and she was at 111 Sullivan Trail. Officers responded and found Casey. The warrant was issued to the county sheriff's department for failure to appear. She was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville.

On June 17 about 8:22 p.m. Pocono officers received information from Roxbury Township, N.J., police that a warrant was issued for a individual residing in Mt. Pocono. The man was identified as Jason Scarlato, 33, of 42 Cobblewood Drive. Scarlato was wanted for violating a restraining order and terroristic threats. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the county prison pending extradition to New Jersey.

On Friday about 3:44 p.m. police responded to 2803 Oakview Lane, Tobyhanna, to a report of four male juveniles running from an abandoned residence. Police rounded up four who were identified by a witness as the four who ran from the home. The home had extensive damages to the interior, police said.

All four were taken to headquarters, processed and then released to the custody of their parents.
