Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at Pottsville and Commerce sts., in Port Carbon.

State police at Frackville said a Ford F150 pickup truck operated by William A. Wallace, 20, of Pottsville, was stopped after being observed being driven erratically and for motor vehicle code violations.

Wallace was found to be under the influence and failed field sobreity tests. He was then taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test. He was then released to the custody of a friend.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
