Three sweeps on first night

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission's annual summer volleyball league started Thursday with Sandstorm, Valley Athletic Supply, and Volleyball Cronies all winning three games.

Volleyball Cronies-Prestige Worldwide

Volleyball Cronies swept Prestige Worldwide 25-9, 25-14, 25-17. Ang Rutch had 17 service points, including eight aces, for Volleyball Cronies. Cody Thomas had 12 points in the sweep.

Tyler Wisniewski led Prestige Worldwide with eight service points.

Sandstorm-

Pup N' Suds

Sandstorm defeated Pup N' Suds in all three games by scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-13. Christa Mantz had nine service points for Sandstorm, and Kyle Nevenglosky had eight service points.

Pup N' Suds was led by Brittany Homcha who had four service points.

Valley Athletic Supply-Highwood USA

Valley Athletic Supply swept Highwood USA 25-20, 25-11, 25-17. T.J. O'Connor led Valley Athletic with 18 service points, including five aces.

Rick Baddick scored seven service points for Highwood USA.
