Two Monroe County drivers are facing charges following two separate crashes.

State police at Lehighton said a crash occurred about 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, along SR209 at Polk Township Rd., in Polk Township. Troopers said a 2005 Jeep Liberty operated by Bradley S. Kobal, 50, of Effort, rear-ended a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Sandra C. Frawley, 41, of Kresgeville. Troopers said after impact Kobal allegedly made lewd gestures towards Frawley and then fled the scene.

Troopers said Kobal will be charged with hit and run, following too closely and other offenses. No one was injured in the crash.

Troopers also investigated a crash about 2:50 p.m. on June 24 along SR534 at the intersection with Dorshimer Rd., in Polk Township. Troopers said Samantha J. Klingel, 17, of Kresgeville, was leaving a stopped position operating a 1998 Nissan Altima on Dorshimer Rd. and attempted to go south on 534 and pulled directly into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Maxine Schaffer, 67, of Kunkletown.

After impact the Altima rotated in a counter-clockwise direction about 45 degrees before coming to rest. No one was injured.

Troopers cited Klingel for obedience to traffic-control devices.
