Monroe man wanted for assault

Published June 29. 2010 05:00PM

State police at Lehighton are seeking a Monroe County man wanted in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred several weeks ago.

Troopers said they learned that Jose Alberto Hernandez-Tirado, 30, of Saylorsburg, was at 242A E. Terrace Drive, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County, on June 23, and in possession of an AK-47 gun. A team of troopers went to the address and apparently caught him off-guard. He fled the home on foot and ran through a wooded area and stream. He successfully eluded the troopers.

Troopers said he is about six feet tall, weighs 165 pounds and has a tatoo on his neck. He must be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, call 9-1-1 immediately, troopers said.
