Canal bridge to be replaced at no charge to municipalities
At the March 1 East Penn Township supervisors' meeting Lehigh Canal representative William Schwab said the wooden footbridge over the Lehigh Canal near Rock Hill will be replaced because the turnpike commission needs a bridge sturdy enough to take equipment over. The commission will do the replacement work without monetary input from the adjacent municipalities.
In public comment Joe Ehritz said several items either went over-budget or were not budgeted in 2008 and created issues that still have to be resolved. Gary Kuehner was road foreman in 2007 and some things that did not get done were not followed up on the following two years and are still waiting to be completed.
The Parks Commission has planned a golf disk-off for Armed Forces Day to be played on the course at Riverview Park. Help putting the goal baskets together is needed. Work will be done beginning at 8 a.m., March 20, at the municipal building.
Nine standard rules signs for the disk golf course will cost $755.86. An anonymous donation of $750 takes care of most of the cost, and Pfeiffer said he would donate the $5.86, saying it is not even $6.
Ag Security applications must be in the office by March 16.

Secretary Deanne Cunfer was authorized to do electronic actions for funds disbursement from PennVest money.
Solicitor Jim Nanovic researched the method of changing the nine-member recreation board to seven as requested by chairman Supervisor Randy Pfeiffer.
Nanovic will prepare an ordinance for the April meeting.
Computer fraud insurance was purchased for $16 a year.
