Monroe barn fire is ruled an arson
A fire that damaged a barn in Monroe County has been ruled an arson.
State police at Fern Ridge said the barn, located along Frantz Road, in Chestnuthill Township, was deliberately set on fire. The blaze was discovered about 6:59 a.m. on Monday, March 1. The large, wood frame and heavy timber barn sustained minor damages. It is owned by Florence Frantz, of Brodheadsville, troopers said.
The fire was extinguished by the person who discovered it but was not named by troopers. West End Fire Company responded to make certain the fire was out, troopers added.
