Tamaqua woman charged with theft

Published March 04. 2010 05:00PM

A Tamaqua woman has been cited for stealing a credit card before Christmas.

Dara K. Schaeffer of 225 Pine St., was charged by Tamaqua Police Cpl. Henry Woods after he received a complaint from Sarah Huegel of New Ringgold.

According to police the two women were together on Christmas Eve, which is reportedly when Schaeffer pilfered the card.

The card was used three times on Dec. 27, at the Turkey Hill Minute Mart for gasoline; at Hollinger's Store for clothing; and at Toys R Us, both of Allentown, for toys. Huegel was not the one making the purchases.

The investigation pointed to Schaeffer, who later admitted the theft and use of the card.

She was charged with access device fraud, theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking and two counts of receiving stolen property.
