Weight restriction placed on Kidder Township bridge
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today they have posted an 11-ton weight restriction on the PA 534 Bridge over Swamp Run in Kidder Township, Carbon County.
A recent inspection of the bridge showed deterioration to the main bridge beams. Vehicles weighing over 11-tons must seek an alternate route.
The PA 534 Bridge is a steel I-beam bridge built in 1938 and is 33 feet long and 22 feet wide. This area of PA 534 has an average daily traffic of 1,039 vehicles.
