Celebrating 93 years today

Dorothy Sarah (Jacquot) Schaar, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, is celebrating her 93rd birthday today. She was born on March 8, 1917 in Cementon, Pa. Dorothy has also resided in Audenried, Freeland, and St. Petersburg, Fla.

She worked in Woolworth's and for the United Charities. On July 27, 1937 she was married to Robert T. Schaar. They were married for 42 years until his passing. Dorothy is the proud mother of two children, Barbara of Hazleton, and Robert of Benton, Pa.

Over the years, Dorothy's hobbies have included playing cards, baking, and reading. She is an avid Mets fan.

Dorothy is a member of Faith United Church of Hazleton.
