March 9, 1974 Four TIMES NEWS area wrestlers capture gold medals at the Southeastern Regional Class B tournament. Northwestern's Chris Wentz decisions Todd Mertz of Palmerton, 7-2, at 91 pounds to gain his title while Bob Ryder of Lehighton edges Dave Bauman of Palisades, 3-2, to grab the 148-pound championship. Palmerton's Bill Graver earns the 158-pound crown by defeating Don Zimmerman of North Schuylkill, 5-3. The final TN title goes to Slatington heavyweight Nick Delong, who rolls to a 11-3 win over Skip Hubler of North Schuylkill.
