Luzerne driver facing DUI count
A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Monroe County.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Saturday, March 6, about 3:38 a.m. officers received information from the county communications center of an erratic driver along SR115 southbound in Tobyhanna Township. The vehicle was described as a Chevrolet Tahoe. Officers located the suspect vehicle along 115 near the intersection with Church St. Officers began to follow the vehicle and observed it cross the center line several times and go onto the right soulder.
A traffic stop was made at the Blakeslee Post Office. The driver was identified as John Francis Koss Jr., 31, of Wilkes-Barre, and he admitted to consuming alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he submitted to a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
