Coaches, officers
The Lansford Babe Ruth team will hold a meeting for all coaches and officers on Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post. Late sign-ups for players will be taken from 6:30 until the meeting time.
Lansford Little League, T-ball and Girls' Softball will hold a meeting for all coaches and officers on Wednesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. at the Legion.

It's time to make plans for the May 2011 class reunion and a meeting will be held for the Lansford Alumni on Wednesday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at the Sports Zoo.

The next free supper sponsored by the Meed's Methodist Church will be held on Wednesday, March 31. All are welcome.
Summit Hill
Food distribution
The Summit Hill Food Pantry will be open for the distribution of food on March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon. Please remember to bring extra sturdy paper bags for extra food. The pantry is open the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Old cell phones
The Summit Hill Lions Club is collecting old and unwanted cell phones. They can be working or non-working and can be dropped off at the home of Tom and Janel Tirpak, 2 E. Walter St., Summit Hill, or Northeast Chemical and Supply Company, Lansford, or they can be given to members of the club.
Scripture sharing
The weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will resume on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the parish rectory.
Adult workshop
A workshop entitled "Protecting All God's Children" will be held on Wednesday, March 24, from 6-9 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford.
This workshop is mandated for anyone who has contact with youth today in any capacity coaches, teachers, volunteers, etc.

Seeking recipes
The Diligence Fire Company No. 1, Summit Hill, is seeking recipes for a cookbook it is planning. Persons interested in providing their favorite recipes can drop them off at the borough hall, St. Joseph Church, the Presbyterian Church, Hiles Brothers or Breslin's.
They can also be mailed to: Summit Hill Fire Cookbook, P.O. Box 114, Summit Hill, Pa. 18250, or they can be e-mailed to shfirecookbook@hotmail.com. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
Easter egg hunt
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will sponsor its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 3, beginning at noon on the cemetery grounds behind the church.
Jim and Nancy Filer are once again serving as event coordinators. They are accepting gifts/candy/baskets to give the children.
The age levels of the hunt will be: birth to 3, 3-6, 7-10 and 10-and-up.
Water authority
The Summit Hill Water Authority will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. John Michalik, president, will be in charge.
