Witnesses sought in chase incident

Tamaqua police are asking anyone who witnessed an attempted traffic stop and the following high speed chase on Sunday afternoon to contact the department.

Officers attempted to stop a Dodge Dakota truck after the driver, Timothy Ewer of Doylestown, went through a red light, then turned into the lot at Fegley's Mini-Mart on Center Street. Several pedestrians and motorists were affected by Ewer's actions before his vehicle was stopped by police on SR309 south, in the area of the Ridge Cup, in West Penn Township.
